Continuing Medical Education Program (ECM)
ECM is an updating system through which healthcare professionals keep themselves up to date in order to meet patients' needs, the organizational and operational requirements of the Health Service, and their own professional development. Continuing medical education includes the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and attitudes useful for competent and expert practice. In order to acquire this knowledge, continuous updating is necessary. Healthcare workers have a deontological obligation to put new knowledge and skills into practice to provide qualitatively useful care. Therefore, taking care of one's patients with up-to-date skills, without conflicts of interest, in order to be a good healthcare professional.
